My final entry for the CG boost challenge "library"
I was walking around my hometown during the corona virus lockdown (we are allowed to go outside if we keep our distance) and I saw one of the public street libraries. We have a couple of them in our town but further up the road a lady who wanted to do something nice for the community during the corona crisis. Put a box at the end of her lawn with a nice note next to it that said that even while everything is closed due to the lockdown you can always enlighten your day with a book. Take one if you want.
I really liked the gesture and a good feeling that during a crisis peaple are still willing to brighten up somebody elses day. So i decided to create a public library next to a public bench for the challenge.
I started to model the bench with some reference images i found on the internet and after that I modeled the cabinet. I then created the pavement to be able to find a compositing i liked. After that was done I modeled a couple of books en textured them with images found on the internet. After that was done I needed to create the park part of the image using grass from blender guru's grass essentials and added some trees in the background.
After that it was all compositing in blender and a small touchup in Photoshop.
Everything took me a couple of hours every evening for two weeks.
Again I learned a lot doing this in blender and i hope to be able to keep on participating in these challenges.
